Let's Say

Life is a snowstorm of mineral flakes

falling as slowly as time.

Let's say that each moment is a note,

each person a song, all floating through

the infinite ocean of space.

Let's say the call of a whale

travels forever,

across a galaxy and on to places unknown –

joins forces with the cycles of stars.

Let's say the universe is a song

and your life is a note

that plays in harmony with mine,

and the song is singing forever,

carrying the winter birds,

the spring peepers,

the laughter of children.

Let's say we all listen,

and rest,

and wonder at what we have created.
