The Handmaid's Amendment

 

I propose the following Constitutional Amendment, which could be called the "Handmaid's Amendment" intended to prevent the U.S.A from becoming the tyrannical state of "Gilead" described in The Handmaid's Tale:

"No woman shall be required by law to give birth to a child or to carry an embryo or fetus in her womb. A woman may prevent or terminate an unwanted pregnancy by any reasonable medical procedure."

I am registered as a "no-party" voter but I do not vote for any Republican candidates because the Republican Party is the party of the Confederacy. I have emailed this proposal to my New York congressional delegation.
